At the moment, when you want to store the video footage of an particular event only the video recorded at the very moment is locked. If the event you want to be recorded began before or ends after the current video, the beginning or ending part is not locked.
This issue is also addressed here: https://www.vantrue.us/forum/___n4/saving-emergency-video-not-perfect
I suggest to add two options to the video settings:
1.) Minimum duration before locking (None, 30 sec., 1 min., etc).
2.) Minimum duration after locking (None, 30 sec., 1 min., etc.)
If a video is locked, the camera also needs to lock as many videos from the past or in the future so that the sum of the durations of the current video and the past/future videos is greater or equal to the corresponding option.
Example:
Video duration is set to 1 min.
Minimum duration before locking is set to 2 min. Minimum duration after locking is set to 1 min.
Video is locked at 0:20 min.
==>
Current video contains 20 sec. duration of the past.
Current video will contain 40 sec. duration of the future.
To fulfill the minimum duration before locking (2 min.), 2 videos from the past have to be locked too (20 sec. + 2 * 1 min. >= 2 min.).
To fulfill the minimum duration after locking (1 min.), 1 video in the future has to be locked too (40 sec. + 1 min. >= 1 min.).
