Problems connecting X4S to a MAC

① Click [Finder] on the Mac desktop, and then select [Preferences] to enter.

② Go to the [General] tab and make sure that the [External Disk] option is selected.

③ Then go to the [Sidebar] tab and check [External Disk] under the device column.

④ Finally, reconnect the SD card to the Mac/MacBook computer to check whether the SD card has been recognized normally.

This is not the problem. I have had 2 external HDD and 2 external SSD's connected to my MacPro for years. After trouble shooting this problem a couple of hours I finally was able to kluge my way to being able to read the files off the SD card by:

1) Plugging into an old Windows 10 laptop I have. But even then when trying to open the external card/drive, windows reported it was unreadable and asked if I wanted to repair the disk. I said yes and windows repaired the disk and it then became readable normally. I thought maybe whatever Windows did to it, it would now be readable by my Mac. Nope. Same error.

2) I run Windows 10 Parallels VM on my Mac. Then plug in external SD card reader with card. The Mac asks me if I want to connect to the Mac or the Windows VM. Despite the fact that I still receive the 'unable to read ' Mac error, I click on connect to Windows 10 VM. Windows 10 VM sees the card reader but says it cannot read the external drive. It asks me if I want to repair the external drive and I say yes. The external drive/sd card is now readable in the Windows 10 VM in Parallels but if I eject the drive and try and connect to the Mac, get the same 'unable to read' error. So at least i can see the video files in the Windows 10 VM in Parallels and can then copy them to the Mac.

This is completely repeatable using 3 different brands of SD cards and all formatted freshly and a couple of new video files recorded from the Vantrue X4s. Also, I have the latest firmware in the Vantrue X4s. Ah, but you ask, how was I able to do the firmware update if my Mac will not read the SD card. Well I formated it on the Mac using FAT32 and copied the bin file to card. When I inserted the card into the Vantrue and turned it on, It read the file and did the update. Then when it rebooted, it asked to reformat the SD Card.

We are not sure if this problem is related to the Mac system version, our engineers are testing now. Can you download a NTFS plugin for mac to have a try? Thanks.
