It seems, from what I am reading on the forum, that hardwiring is not advised due to the draw on the battery being too great leaving a dead battery if not driven for a couple of days. Anyone with information to the contrary or alternative ways of having parking mode enabled without coming back to a dead battery?

Correction: How would I confirm?
Please excuse my ignorance, but I've read that most cars require at least 12v to start the engine. Wouldn't this make this dashcam incompatible with most cars? Also, how would I c? I can't seem to find this information for a 2018 Chevrolet Trax.
Hi Moto, the hardwire kit has low voltage protection function. When it detects the car battery power drops to 11.6V, it will cut download the power supply for the dash cam. If the start up voltage of your car is higher than the low-voltage protection voltage of our hardwire kit, then it is not suitable for your car to use the hardwire kit, cause ignition failure may occur when you turn on the car next time. In that case, you can consider to use something like mobile power bank(or battery pack). Thank you.
